Women’s Cancer Action grew out of the dedication, passion and hard work of a handful of women affected by cancer.
Tragically, we lost one of those founding members in November 2009. Yvonne Ortiz was a kind, generous and determined woman.
An Omaha Equay tribe member, Yvonne dedicated her life to helping Indigenous people. She was also a loving mother to twin baby girls.
This website is dedicated to Yvonne Ortiz. May it help women in Minnesota and across the country prevent cancer through action and may it make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
