Qigong
Qigong (pronounced "Chi-Kung") is an ancient Chinese form of meditation and movement that promotes health, mental well-being, martial arts skills, and spiritual development. Qigong literally means, "Energy Cultivation," and refers to movements which improve health and longevity as well as increase the sense of harmony within oneself and in the world. All Qigong contains common principlesmind, eyes, movement and breath. Another way to express this is that the mind is the presence of intention, the eyes are the focus of intention, the movement is the action of intention, the breath is the flow of intention.
There are thousands of different types of Qigong systems. Most systems consist mainly of breathing techniques, moving exercises, massage techniques, still postures, and mental training. Qigong has been used for centuries as a daily health practice to improve and maintain health conditions.
